Working draft · for discussion

Creating together, with the details clear.

This is a preview of the topics your individual artist agreement will cover. It is not a contract to sign. Your written proposal will supply the project-specific payment, cancellation, and delivery terms before you book.

The artwork and scope

The proposal identifies the client and artist, artwork or service, dimensions, materials, agreed creative direction, deliverables, and any exclusions. Reference images guide the conversation; the final direction is agreed together.

Payment and changes

Live-painting dates require a signed agreement and a 30% non-refundable booking retainer. The written quote states the total fee, applicable taxes, remaining payment dates, and any project-specific costs. For murals, the proposal sets the initial payment and milestones. It also specifies included design revisions and how additional work is approved and priced. Changes to scope, price, or timing are recorded in writing before the additional work begins.

Dates, access, and completion

The agreement identifies the event date or project schedule, workspace and access requirements, and responsibilities for preparation, equipment, and safety. Live painting may require drying or studio finishing; the handover date is agreed separately.

Cancellations and rescheduling

The individual agreement will state notice periods, rescheduling options, treatment of work already completed and materials purchased, and any refunds or retained payments. These amounts and deadlines are still to be established; this preview does not impose them.

Collection, shipping, and care

Before work begins, agree on collection, local delivery, or shipping, including packing, insurance, costs, estimated timing, and responsibility for transit damage or loss. Artwork condition, care instructions, and the process for reporting a delivery issue belong in the written agreement.

Ownership, images, and permissions

The agreement distinguishes ownership of the physical artwork from permission to reproduce it. Any commercial use, reproduction license, collaboration credit, or permission to photograph and share the project should be stated explicitly. The client and artist confirm permissions for reference materials and the site where the work will be installed.

Approval and resolving concerns

The final agreement will record approvals, acceptance and handover arrangements, applicable law, and how concerns or disputes will be addressed. Both parties receive the completed agreement and accept its terms before the booking is confirmed.
